  2. You just showed up today. to every situation, every meeting, every answered call, despite feeling utterly defeated. you are a member of the thriving society

  3. You’ve managed a smile through your toughest days of loss and grief. that’s a form of thriving

  4. You are a new parent, gradually accepting the new pace of your life. that’s a sign of thriving, in case no one told you

  5. You have found a way to be thankful for what you have while consciously reducing how much you compare yourself to others. those are early signs of thriving and not just existing

  6. your skin may not be at its best or you are not exactly in love with the way you look right now, but you are establishing routines to get where you want to be. no one tells you this, but that’s you thriving.

  8. You’ve got enough money in the bank to get you and your family through the next 3 months at least or you’ve always gotten paid on time or you’ve never been late on a payment. whichever one you chose, you are still thriving

  9. You have no major health concerns or diagnosis. YOU ARE MOST CERTAINLY THRIVING

  10. You’ve not yet got a big promotion or a new job, but have managed to do smart work (instead of hard work) and have stayed consistent to serve your current needs. Thriving. You are a thriver.

  11. You’ve made plans that suit you more than society’s standards. (you stayed in on a Friday night or raged with friends on a Monday evening) Classic Thriving.

  12. You still believe in love and continue to put yourself out there, despite terrible Tinder dates. You = Thriver

You don’t have to be gaining traction on goals set or earning extremely well or even being your best self, to Thrive.

Our society associates thriving with capitalistic standards of success while completely ignoring some of the very basics that define a person. Sometimes by not thriving (by societal standards), we may actually truly be thriving.

I’ve penned down these 12 specific signs as a reminder for you (as well as myself) that every one of us is thriving, just in our own way.

We thrive not when we've done it all, but when we still have more to do
